Silkateen Thread on Spools Still with Original paper Wraps Vintage Embroidery Thread Early 1900s
Description
Five spools100 yards of thread in each spool
Early 1900s thread that was stored with family embroidery work. The thread has been stored insdie and is still strong and pliable. All five original wood spools with three yellow and two red spools. There is one yellow spool that still has the original small strip wrapper around the spool to protect the thread.
Silkateen was designed to be used in embroidery, knitting and crochet.
Silkateen was considered to be one of the premier embroidery threads of the early 1900s. As instructed on the wrapper, be sure and use Ivory Soap. Most threads of this time period were made to be only washed with Ivory soap and many of their wrappers had those instructions !
Due to the nature of this thread I will be sending it in a box rather than an envelope. This will ensure its integrity as an item.
