This image from my Nepalese photo album is printed by hand using my favorite medium of silk screen printing. It is available as a cover for any one of my journal books, or as a set of blank, paper greeting cards. Please convo me with your request and I'll post the specific item. Or choose the one pictured!

The silkscreened image is pasted on a forest green background mat, then affixed permanently to the journal cover, which is a gorgeous sienna/wine color (French Paper 100 lb cover stock) reminiscent of a Tibetan monk's robe. Inside 50 sheets are 100% recycled paper. The book measures 8 1/2" x 7" x 5/8".

There's a descriptive label pasted on the sturdy cardboard back, with a brief explanation of the Sanskrit mantra that appears along the top. This particular mantra belongs to Guru Rinpoche, the Indian guru who brought tantric buddhism to Tibet and Bhutan in the 8th century.

While trekking in Nepal, a traveler is welcomed at the entry point of each small village by a chorten, or stupa. Some are more elaborate than others, with beautiful prayer wheels or fresco paintings. This one was quite old and beautifully situated against the backdrop of the landscape.
