Decorative Hand Painted Box

I've had a few of these paper mache boxes sitting around for a bit and I finished one of them up today! There's a few internet sites I've visited lately who have the prettiest combinations of blue backgrounds with pink roses in their homes - bedrooms, offices, living rooms and bathrooms - just gorgeous. So those visions are actually the inspiration for this box design.

The box originally had the raised areas on the side. I accented them with the prettiest sky blue. Then, I painted the top of the box with the same blue including some accent stripes on the sides of the lid. For the top, I painted some of my pink cottage roses and rosebuds along with some greenery.

The ending result was something so sweet and the more I look at it, the more I love the color combinations! So sweet and romantic!! This box measures about 2 inches tall, 3 inches wide and if I put a tape measure around the box, it measures about 9 1/2 inches. It would be a great size to use as a keepsake box for special vintage heirloom jewelry. It could also be used for candies tucked inside or so many other possibilities!!
