Atlas Dining Table Base

Description

OK, this is a dining table and evolution of a previous design. A well meaning architect friend suggested that the structure would be better served displayed rather than hidden by a wooden top. I dismissed his comment right away and then the moment he turned his back I went ahead and designed this glass topped dining table.

I don’t have much interest in shipping glass tops across the country when they are so easy to find locally. What I am selling here is the base only. You supply the top.
The top pictured is a 36 inch top purchased from Pier One Imports. I think they have reasonable prices on glass tops, especially if you wait for the sales. The design can be modified to handle larger diameters. I would think four feet would be possible without much effort.

The legs are inch and a quarter Baltic birch. The wings
holding the legs to the center column are half inch Baltic birch. The center post is inch and a quarter square and then veneered with walnut.

Again, what I am offering here is the structure WITHOUT the top. The legs themselves are a bit over 29 inches tall. This particular one has a varnish finish.
