Let the world know about your longing for the sea! This wonderfully whimsical brooch tells everyone that you love the salty air, the watery depths, and all the strange and amazing critters living in the deep blue.

A closely cropped print of a starfish from my painting "Stella's Dive" is the focal point and is placed under a large glass bauble firmly attached to a faux porthole, which I painstakingly hand-sculpted, painted, and gave a verdigris treatment to mimic the real deal. For added spunk and elegance, I've attached a snippet of red corduroy (recovered from an out-of-print upholstery fabric book originally headed for the trash). A locking pinback is securely attached behind and is fully ready to pin to your best jacket as you head to the aquarium.

These brooches are super limited edition--I only made 3--so if they catch your fancy, be sure and scoop one up!
