Art Nouveau Inspired Votive Candlestick

I've been an fan of Art Nouveau for many years. The subtle natural forms intrigue me. It took this block of American Elm to to bring out an idea I have had working on me.

It is a lathe turned form with hand carving and considerable hand sanding. Finished with a couple of coats of polyurethane varnish and comes complete with a standard glass votive cup that fits snugly in the top. I don't make candles, but there are some fine candlemakers here on etsy that can provide all sorts of candles.

Supported on a 3 1/2 inch diameter base, It stands 8 inches tall (9 if you count the cup). Signed, dated and wood identified on the base.
