Totems are believed to possess the attributes of their represented entities and to be guardians and guides for those within their sphere of influence. Horse medicine embodies strength, grace and spirit that are immune to corruption from outside forces uniting the grounded power of earth with the whispers of wisdom found in the spirit winds. It is this essence combined with symbols of protection, power, enlightenment and wishes for well being and positive outcomes that are embodied by the totems I make.

Buffalo Runners were treasured for their courage and agility; decorated with carefully chosen symbols of power and protection these special horses were used exclusively as hunters or war ponies.

Spirit of the Hunt has an eye circle to enhance vigilance and awareness.
The bison horn headdress honors Sacred Buffalo, provider of all things needed to live well.
Lightning bestows great strength, speed and agility.
The mark of the hand sweeps adversities/adversaries aside and honors the horse for carrying a rider safely through ambush or other perilous encounters.
Hailstones represent irresistible force and unstoppable power.
Wolf possesses wisdom, intense loyalty, and prowess as a hunter. It is believed that Wolf, because of his many attributes and extreme hunting skills is honored with carrying the souls of the most courageous and accomplished hunters.
The beaded medallion serves as a shield of protection against all ills that may be encountered.

Feathers offer both the freedom to soar and a soft place to fall at journeys end.

Spirit of the Hunt is a one of a kind approximately 10 & 1/2 inches tall by 12 & 1/2 hand crafted sculpture.
