Large Monarch Butterfly Bowl

Description

This large bowl is decorated with the images of the Monarch Butterfly. On this particular bowl there are three wings creeping up the underside of the bowl. The bowl measures 10-3/8" in diameter and right around 2-1/4" in height. This bowl would be great to searve pasta, salad, chips, fruit or as a great addition to your space.

The glaze technique on this bowl is based on Majollica (or Maiollica). I brushed on 3 coats of a yummy white satin glaze and then painted the colored decorating glazes on top. The bowl has a really great feel because of the satin glaze.

Wheel thrown and handpainted. I use non-toxic clay as well as non-toxic glazes. Safe for serving food. OK for the dishwasher and microwave oven but not on a regular basis. Best if the piece is hand washed to help prolong it's life. This piece should not be put into the oven.
