Maid Marian (short for maiden) usually named Lady Marian Fitzwalter of Leaford, is the female companion to the legendary English outlaw Robin Hood.

In this interpretation of her story, I've created an imaginary Punk Rock Fairytale Land for Maid Marian, designed, produced and orchestrated by none other than Sid Vicious (bassist of influential British punk rock group Sex Pistols), the man once dubbed by Malcolm McLaren as being the "attitude of punk".

Pursuant to the alternative music movement genre, my Maid Marian wears a layered Vintage Slip Dress featuring waterfall pleats cascading towards an anti-establishment asymmetrical hemline. Further defying convention, the seams have pintucked trims in contrasting colours. On a sidenote, that gorgeous floral fabric is genuine antique, it was a gift from my Grans who got it from her Grans.

I've paid a wee bit of homage to Glam Rock too, adding bits of Italian Suede and a single bling Flower Appliqué to the bodice area, on one side. The left side showcases an utterly theatrical assemblage of Boudoir Fantasy Silk Flowers laid upon a Metallic Mesh Cord, authentic to 1898.

A fantabulous, luscious Venetian Satin Lace Shawl drapes around the waist to make the most raunchy statement ever!!!

The neckpiece is fashioned from buttery smooth Italian Suede to caress your skin, the same Vintage Lace as found adorning the dress' bodice and Silk Ribbon Ties. An outrageous yet incredibly wearable look is assured with the inclusion of an awesome Celestite Geode Slice Focal dipped in 10K Solid Yellow Gold, flanked by Greenish Blue Emeralds and Brazilian Amethysts. Vintage Blue Enamel Chains for tongue-in-cheek chic.

Hips - free
Length - 30" (shortest point) to 37", from underarm to hem, notwithstanding the fact that those straps are totally adjustable.

IMPORTANT - most garments are somewhat adjustable to fit you, i.e., made slightly larger or slightly smaller. Otherwise, a special piece can always be dreamt up just for you :)

All fabrics and findings used in Sheela Goh Couture designs (unless indicated otherwise) are antique and over 100 years old. In fact, some bits are authentic Edwardian and Victorian. Seriously. So please, do wear her with care and respect.
