Monarch Butterfly on Flower Sculpture Painting on Ceramic Plate

"All for me?” This lovely Monarch has just found butterfly paradise! He’s shown here the moment before he drinks from the Buddleia or butterfly bush, a favorite plant of butterflies. We love butterflies, please see our store for more:-)

I (Nancy, see profile) sculpted this beauty from polymer clay, adding some thin wire for the antennae and legs to give dimension. He and the plate were painted with acrylic paints, and then coated with a clear gloss protective seal. The plate is a bisqueware plate that I purchased unglazed. The front of this plate is actually a very soft cloud blue, and the back is a deep purple. It is meant for decorative use only, and the display stand is included in the price.

This plate is 11 inches around, and the butterfly is about 3 inches tall. The whole piece weighs about 2 pounds, 5 ounces.

This item will ship via U.S. Priority Mail with Insurance and Delivery Confirmation. Because of the size, fragile nature and heavy weight, we are not currently shipping plates internationally.
