Pegasus in Greek mythology was the winged horse, son of Poseidón, God of the sea, and gorgona Medusa. The Pegaso was born of the neck of Medusa after being overcome and being died by the Perseo hero.
While drinking from a well, Bellerophon managed to slip a golden bridle over Pegasus and capture the horse. The golden bridle had been a gift from the goddess Athena. Bellerophon tamed Pegasus.
Bellerophon made the foolish decision to try and fly Pegasus to Mount Olympus. Zeus quickly put a stop to Bellerophon by throwing him from Pegasus. Bellerophon survived the fall, but he was crippled. As for Pegasus, he made it into heaven where he spent his days carrying lightning bolts for Zeus.
~I like to think that Pegasus is still out there flying around. And that He's got a family too.
(third picture isn't too good but you see the wool hoops to hang by :))
