Description

I call this dress the picnic pinafore because it is both playful, for winding one's way through the dandelions at the park, and at the same time, sophisticated enough for a little flower girl on a wedding day.

I fell in love with this pattern because it has a simple elegance that lends itself well to reclaimed fabrics such as retro printed or embroidered linen tablecloths, funky curtains, and chenille bedspreads.

This black cotton eyelet dress is fully lined with soft, new, cotton lycra fabric.

Chest around 22.5" (this is the limiting measurement for this otherwise roomy dress which could even be worn on an older child as a cute blouse if the chest was under 21")
Outer fabric is cotton, no stretch
Lining cotton lycra

Most european children's wear is measured using height as an age/ size guide. To find what size you need to buy, measure the height of your child (please don't guess as an inch can make a huge difference on a baby or toddler).

If you don't have a wall chart then the most acurate way is to stand your child against a wall and put a rule (or slim stick etc) on top of their head and mark the wall (oops! not on the wallpaper) and then measure the wall rather than the wriggling child.
