The Tsarina's Necklace

This necklace has been in the works for at least a couple of months. It’s not because it was so labor intensive, but that I suffered a lot of “beaders’ block” in the process of creating it. I am finally satisfied with the result and therefore ready to put it in my shop!

The center piece is a stone pendant that I purchased at a bead show several years ago. I failed to ask what kind of stone it was so I unfortunately cannot pass on that information. It is bezeled with an array of sea toned green seed beads, galvanized silver cylinder beads and tiny silver charlotte beads. The edge is beaded with size six frosted beads. Cultured Freshwater Pearls bring light to this piece as they cluster and dangle from the center piece. The strap consists of more sea toned green seed beads woven in peyote stitch edged with more silver charlottes. The strap is 15 inches in length and the entire piece is 19 inches long. The clasp is a hook-and-eye closure hidden underneath the pearl cluster on the strap.
