Hot Cross Bun Recycled Felt Food Sculpture

Description

A hot cross bun is a type of sweet spiced bun made with currants or raisins with a cross marked on the top in pastry. They are traditionally eaten in the UK on Good Friday to signify the crucifixion.

Sharing a hot cross bun with another is supposed to ensure friendship throughout the coming year, because of the cross on the buns, some say they should be kissed before being eaten, if hung in the kitchen, they are said to protect against fires and insure that all breads turn out perfectly.

Designed completely by me ;)

Made from felt and stuffed with polyfil. Completely hand sewn and stuffed.

Please note that as each bun is hand cut, embroidered and sewn, the cross and raisin placement may very slightly in each piece.
