Scrappy Apron 3

Description

When my boxes of scraps began to overwhelm my sewing room I decided that they should have a fair shot at being used just like their larger counterparts. This beautiful collage of fabrics was the result.

This particular apron was the third of the group- adventurous, but wanted to wait until a small path had been forged. She began with a square of “birdseed” fabric (with three added yellow buttons) and from there took on 3 floral prints, blue, pink, and green, as well as a solid orange and a solid yellow. One of the fabrics shows only half of the red center of a large flower so I added a red button to complete the circle. I also added a few pieces of jumbo rick rack to add a touch more interest.

My favorite part of this apron is the unexpected orange vintage-style fabric used to make the waist ties. I also love the colorful lining.

This is truly a one-of-a-kind collage that was joyfully made to last for years to come.

P.S. Instead of a pocket, this apron has a fabric loop at the waist that can be used to hang a dish towel, spatula, or anything you’d like (hammer, candy cane, scissors, Barbie, hairbrush, miniature anything, pen collection, yo-yo, piccolo… ).

Care Instructions:
For best results, machine wash cold and hang to dry.
