I love books and I love wearable things that open up and reveal spaces that you can make your own with your words, ideas, or images. I'm branching out from the locket concept and making entire little books that you can personalize and wear.

The cover of your book is made from a tough, flexible paperboard that closely resembles leather in look and feel. It is painted, distressed, and stamped to look like an old book cover, and varnished for protection. It is approximately 1.25 inches square.

The inside is filled with snippets of vintage papers, cut from encyclopedias, dictionaries, plant books, poetry books, and more. Some papers are more than 100 years old. The vintage pages alternate with blank light brown cardstock pages for a total of 20 altogether (40 if you count the backs). Fill your pages with your photos, journaling, artwork, or whatever inspires you.

The book is hung from a 24 inch brass chain and detailed with a little hand-dyed silk ribbon scrap (removeable). It closes with a brass lobster clasp. The necklace can be shortened or lengthened upon request.

The last picture shows a similar necklace (same size, shape, and construction) being worn to give you an idea of how it looks, but it is not the exact necklace from this listing.

I'm putting several new book necklaces in my shop, with themes including numerology, language/poetry, maps, flowers, architecture, etc.

All jewelry comes in a pretty gift tin, perfect for giving or just plain fun to open yourself!

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any comments, questions, or requests.
