Description

Standing beneath the overlapping branches of trees made massive by their hundreds of years of silent observation in this world, it is almost possible to see where they reach upwards and touch the heavens.

This is the second in the series Touching Heaven.

Along a path that winds its way through the marsh and backwater of La Crosse, Wisconsin is a grove of trees that have stood so long that they must have good stories to tell. It is one of my favorite places. The city was forced to grow around it, and although not completely isolated, the sounds of birds and the wind rustling the trees takes me to an internal place that I know is where my soul lives.
