Rock Buddies (Salt and Pepper Shakers)

Everyone needs a buddy - don't you think? Meet Leo and Clark. Leo first met Clark near mushroom #3 by the tallest redwood tree in the forest. Clark was there gathering some moss to lay on for a short summer nap. They chatted up a storm and since then, they've been the best of buddies. The fact that they look similar, everyone mistakens them for twins. :D Clark is slightly taller.

These salt and pepper shakers are made from my favorite chocolate brown clay. They are hand built. The eyes are made of white clay. It is amazing that the placement of the pupils is what gives these guys the pondering expressions. Clear glaze covers the inside and the eyes. I like to keep the naturalness of the clay for the body of the pieces because of the look and the feel of the final product. I add felt to the body for a soft landing and to protect from scratching table tops.

They make me smile and I hope they do the same for you. :)
