Faceted Bowl-Terra Cotta
Description
I threw this bowl with a white stoneware clay body then cut it on eight sides to create the octagonal shape. It has four small feet that make it stand out wherever it is placed. I applied shino glazes; white on the interior and a dark rich terra cotta on the exterior. It was then fired in a gas kiln to a temperature in excess of 2300ยบ f. I love the way the glazes blended near the lip. Use the Etsy zoom tool to focus in on various parts of this pot so you can get a real close-up look at the lovely glaze. This gorgeous pot looks great filled with nuts, candy, or fruit. I've been known to use a bowl much like this one for soup when I'm really super hungry. It holds more than 3 cups of fluid, and stands 3 1/4" tall and is 6 1/2" wide.
