Crocheted Doily, Shaded Light Greens

Description

This doily is a modern interpretation of a traditional doily design with pineapples. The outer border has a whimsical feel from oversized loops of single crochets over chains.

Approximate Size: 28 inches in diameter.
Weight: 103 g

Color: Shaded light greens.

Thread: 100% cotton crochet thread, size 10, matte finish; Knit-Cro-Sheen, by Coats and Clark.

Care: this doily is 100% cotton and can be washed gently by hand. Lay flat on a towel to dry at room temperature, then block into shape.

Blocking: I never starch my doilies. To block them I use a hot steam iron to press the doilies into shape, working from the center out, pulling out and pressing individual picots on the border. This technique gives a nice body to the crocheted piece but retains a pleasant, natural feel.
