Fiber Art Brooch with Vintage Findings - Laminate Felt, Vintage Belt Buckle and Button

Lovely textures and juxtaposition of smooth with fuzzy in this Gray green altered fabric brooch with pale to deep orange accents. A pleasure to see and to touch.

Combining 3 of my favorite things: wool, vintage belt buckle, and vintage button, in an eco friendly upcycled brooch to wear and enjoy.

The wools include icelandic fleece batt, hand spun yarn by Danielle of Felt Studio UK http://FeltStudioUK.etsy.com/ The batt has been dry laminate felted (fused into a base with a barbed needle) The base is a cotton sweater knit fabric.

The vintage buckle is a fine specimen of early plastics, is in near mint condition, it has not been harmed with glues or cuts in making this brooch. Indeed, could it speak, it would exclaim with delight at once again having lovely fabric within it’s grasp. The round deep orange button would likely join in with song. Especially as they are not being asked to work, they are being used for their beauty, so no stress or strain in their current positions.

Size: Width: 2 1/2 inches (6.3cm) (the diameter of the belt buckle)
Length: 7 1/2 inches (19cm) from top to tip of the longest yarn tail

Base metal pinback is hand sewn in place.

Care: Use adhesive lint roller on the fiber, wipe the buckle and button with a damp cloth if necessary. May also vacuum gently with a soft bristle attachment.
