Arthur, a friend made from socks

Arthur loves to read the newspaper. His favorite sections are the opinion pages, the classified section, and the box scores on the sports page. But he’ll read any of it, anything at all. Arthur is sad to hear how many newspapers are closing across the country, or moving to “web-based” editions. To Arthur, there’s nothing more special than curling up with an inky pile of newsprint, jumping up and down on it, rolling around, and wearing it as a toga. Erm…did I say Arthur loves to read the newspaper? I meant Arthur loves to PLAY with the newspaper. He just loves it. Do you have newspapers in your home? Get a subscription, and get ready to watch a master at work. Arthur will make all the news fit to print, and all the news good.

Arthur stands about 5.5 inches (14 cm) tall, and has long, floppy, striped ears. He is hand-stitched from 3 brand new socks. He has big, black & gray lips with a crooked smile and small striped arms. His eyes are white, gray and blue felt.

Fun Fact: The names of most of my sock friends come from my email spam folder. As much as I dislike spam, they do often come up with great names for the sender. So before I delete them, I use them for inspiration. They may as well be put to some use!
