40 Sheets of white handmade paper

Description

This paper is made from 100% office, notebook, printer and other waste papers that I have collected and recycled myself. The only ingredients involved are paper and water! I don't like to add chemicals to my paper. The two main ones used in most papermaking are some kind of sizing, (which prevents bleeding and feathering of inks) and bleach. I don't use either of these because the paper I recycle into my handmade paper often already has sizing in it from the manufacturer, and I really prefer the natural look of handmade paper with the tiny speckles left by the ground up text and pictures, as opposed to a blinding white.

Making paper is a meditative process for me. There's something very relaxing to the simple, repetitive process. The end result of having a crisp, clean sheet of paper brings to mind endless possibilities. Anything that may have been upsetting or stressful before just melts away after I open up a whole world of opportunities with that one simple sheet of paper.

What could you do with this paper? Almost anything! You could write a letter; bind a book; draw a picture; send graduation, birth, wedding, or other event announcements; use it for invitations; use as wrapping for soaps, gifts, or other small objects; or anything else you might use decorative paper for. Be creative!

I inspect each sheet for holes or weak spots, wrinkles, tears, and other major imperfections and those that have them are set aside and either recycled to make more paper, or used for personal projects. This careful selection insures that the paper I send you will hold up to your art!

See the last photo to see what media it will hold up to! Those are the only ones I have tested. If you want to use any medium that is not listed, convo me and I will test it if I have the medium available. The only things that I tested that bled through the back of the paper were the sharpie pens and the highlighter. Everything else stayed put with no or minimal feathering!

Each sheet is approximately 9 inches (22.86 cm) by 7 3/4 inches (19.68 cm) and features the natural, deckled edges that are so characteristic of handmade paper.

Tying paper and envelope orders with hemp thread is not standard, but I will happily do so for you upon request. Journals can be gift-wrapped in brown paper.
