Rhyolite Jasper...Ol' Blue Eyes...The Whimsey Necklace

Well, we went and found a whole bunch of rhyolite stones (and other gorgeous stuff) and spent three hours oohing and drooling over them like a couple of kids. (We love the windows of color formed by ancient volcanic upheaval...) This is the first Whimsey from the bunch.

The pendant in Ol'Blue Eyes is a lovely slice of wavy rhyolite. As you can see, the name comes from the two blue "eyes" at the bottom of the stone. We wire-wrapped the stone, herringbone style, and organically wrapped the bail. We suspended it from sagey-green Japanese glass seed beads. Intermingled with the seed beads are faceted iolite gems and miscellaneous silver beads. Two more seed bead strands float freely above the stone, along with a delicate length of sterling chain.

For our signature asymmetrical look, a perfect sagey-champagne coin pearl sits opposite a silver hammered circle, both of which anchor the seed bead strands. Our signature "swoosh" hangs from the hammered circle - a faceted lavender-blue Czech glass bead, which "communicates with" the blue "eyes" in the stone.

The necklace is finished with several types of sterling chain including double rolo and a sterling silver lobster clasp.

Chain types: sterling silver rolo, long and short, cable.

We use only the highest quality NICKEL-FREE sterling silver.

Ol' Blue Eyes comes with its own Whimsey box for storage and travel (see bottom right thumbnail), with instructions for long term care of this special piece.

Whimseys are made to be worn around the collar bone and not as a choker. We can add an extender should you need to go longer. Please contact us if you need earrings.
