Medieval Style Leather Journal with Fleece Lining and Spine Stitching

Description

This journal has 224 pages from cream-colored sketch paper. The pages are torn and are thus forming a natural looking edge.
The outward material is a distressed looking leather (but is in fact new). The front flap is the natural edge of the leather. As lining material serves spring-green fleece.
Attached to the front flap is a strip of the same leather that also covers the book which serves as a closure.

This hand bound book is bound by two different types of stitches. The book block is first sewn on its own, and then sewn onto the cover. On the spine of the book you can see the second part of the functional stitching. These outward stitches are made with a dark green linen thread, the interior stitches are made with unbleached linen thread that doesn't stand out against the pages.

The journal will open completely flat. The paper is made for sketching on it with pencil and also handles all types of pens quite well which makes it a perfect (art) journal.
But of course you could also use it as notebook, to hold your lecture notes, and your creative ideas.

The technical details: The pages are slightly larger than 12cm x 16cm (about 4 3/4" x 6 1/3"), the spine measures about 2.5cm across (approximately 1").
