Moorish Medallion Tile

Description

This beautiful press molded earthenware relief tile is from our Alhambra collection. Each tile measures 9" in diameter. The stylized foliage ornamentation is inspired by the beauty of Moorish architecture and ceramics; imagine fragrant sun washed courtyards with water splashing into vivid turquoise tiled fountains! The glaze is a vivid transparent turquoise crackle accented with cobalt underglaze. This dramatic medallion would make an amazing centrepiece of an installation ina fountain or pool, or above a cooktop. It is also a splendid stand-alone piece to use as a candle holder or trivet.

All of our tiles are pressed by hand into original hand-made plaster molds. They are appropriate for installation indoors and out, in bathrooms, kitchens, or gardens. They may also be mounted as stand-alone art pieces.
