This piece is a whimsical, intricate and truly beautiful tribute to the story of Alice in Wonderland. It would make a wonderful unique addition to any collection or even a great decoration for a kids' room!
This one of a kind item is made from a simple white hand-painted shadow box, measuring 8" wide by 6" tall and 1 3/4" deep. The "walls" are papered in a swirled brown and white vertical pattern.
Upon a handmade wooden table sits a key and a "bottle" labeled "Drink Me". Visible is only the bottom half of overgrown "Alice" in her blue and white dress, white tights and black shoes. The most charming part, in my opinion, is the little door through which poor Alice just cannot fit. It is made from a small piece of wood (hand stained, the same color as the "floor" and table) and a tiny bead for the door knob. If you peer "through" the door, you see the White Rabbit himself, running along frantically and staring at his pocket watch. This is an illustration from the actual book, snipped out and placed just so. :)
Can sit atop a table or desk, or be hung on a wall with the sawtooth hanging hardware installed on the back.
This piece is just endlessly charming and is sure to spark conversation with anyone who lays eyes on it!
