Elena was born to be noticed! The star of the show, the Belle of the Ball, she is a PRINCESS, and demands the spotlight! Coy and flirtatious, she'll dip her head toward you then suddenly dance away, and watch for you to chase after her!

Adorned in what appears to be a shimmery red brocade gown, she twirls and shows off in the limelight, and preens for the cameras. Like all her little sisters and cousins, she has a nice weight to her that belies her dainty appearance.


Elena measures 6.5 inches across at her lacy brim, and 3.5 inches tall -- her creation involved nearly 7 hours of painful but loving labor, and she is truly a masterpiece!


Her plump, round body is made from two strands of 26-gauge enameled copper wire in red and gold, and her lacy lip is a continuance of the gold wire, entwined with 26-gauge brown wire, and 32-gauge black wire with two rows of single crochet stitches topped with a row of double-crochet shell stitches that flares outward like the petals of a delicate flower!

If you squeeze Elena, she won't complain -- she giggles and bounces back with a little wriggle and jiggle! Don't let her fool you: she is stronger than she looks! Her texture is lovely to feel, and lovelier to see! She loves to be petted and played with, and would love to show off by holding your favorite candies, jewelry, potpourri, or other items. She would also make great candle holder for a short pillar candle, tealights, or votives -- light the candles, and watch her lacy shadows dance across your walls!

The colors that decorate Elena are from the wire's enamel coating, which is permanent, and protects the copper wire from tarnishing, ensuring that she will be bright, shiny, and beautiful for years to come!
