Ornithology Plate series, The Loggerhead Shrike.

Description

This is a special limited edition print of my original digital art-work(run of a mere 20 prints!)
It measures approximately 8 x 10.25 inch (or approx. 20x26cm) and is professionally printed (not on an ink jet!)fade and smudge proof-on 300grams paper with a small white edge so it's ready to be framed.

I am fascinated by the old fashioned ornithology books. This lead me to placing the birds in the same setting. Ancient Plate version 2009.

Next time when you’re on a camping trip and you’re short of scary stories to tell by the fire, tell your listeners of the Loggerhead Shrike also known as THE BUTCHER BIRD Looking as cute as a button, and even sounding all cutesy, this bird sticks his prey on a thorn and then starts eating it! Talk about a good story to tell at a barbecue. On the other hand, perhaps he is just being civilized; after all, we eat with cutlery too.
