Stained Glass Orange Koi Fish Round Suncatcher with Lily Pads

This stunning round stained glass suncatcher features an orange, black and white koi fish in a pond setting with lily pads and a single purple water lily. Measures 13 3/4 inches diameter (35cm).

The koi is crafted using orange wispy, black opal and white wispy stained glass. The fins are clear textured iridescent glass that give off soft hues of green, pink and yellow. The eye of the koi is a black glass glob that has been grinded down to size~it gives the eye roundness and texture and reflects light.

The water background is green and aqua blue wavy Waterglass which has a light texture that resembles water on a lake. The roots of the water lilies are green and clear glass. The bottom of the pond is warm amber brown glass.

The sky above the pond is clear textured glass called Seedy. The lily pads are made of green and amber textured glass. The lily flowers are of light violet purple with white wispy glass. The border is of pearl white textured stained glass.

All of the pieces have been hand cut and assembled using the Tiffany method of glass, copper foil and solder. The entire suncatcher has been wrapped with lead came or framing which gives the piece strength and stability and a finished look. The metals (solder and lead came) have been darkened using black patina. Loops have been attached to the lead came framing and black chain has been included for hanging.
