Passage to India

Description

This piece was greatly inspired of my love of travel to far off lands. I have never been to India (yet), but I believe this piece created a portal for me to explore what it might be like. I have always appreciated the Indian culture, bubbly rooftops, yummy food, bright colors of saffron and turquoise, exotic sunsets...
This pendent is made of entirely sterling silver wire, which I handcrafted, and hammered with texture (it glistens in the sun), it has also been naturally oxidized to bring out the wire work and create an antiqued feel.
I blended stones with an Indian motif...yellow tourmaline, bright blue high grade turquoise and a tiny carnelian bindi :)
Turquoise is said to be good luck for travelers.
I paired it with a hand dyed 100% silk ribbon which gradates in color-greens, mustard, dusty pink. The ribbon can also be changed out for a sterling chain if desired.
