Vintage Library of Congress, Washington, D.C., photochrom art mural postcard circa 1915-1920, # R-30256 published by B.R. Reynolds Co. Unused, 3 3/8 x 5 3/8 inches, very good to excellent condition, front has faintly textured shiny finish, back has smooth matte finish. Slightest corner wear and/or surface wear (visible in photos). No tears or visible creases.From back: "Keats-Endymion by H.O. Walker. The story runs that from her silver chariot of the moon, Diana beheld the shepherd boy Endymion asleep upon Mount Latmos, and enamored of his beauty, descended to press a kiss upon his lips. Night after night in her course across the heavens, the goddess paused to caress the youth, and Endymion, each time but partially awakened, was conscious of her presence only as the sweet vision of a dream."
Photochrom technology is a photomechanical technique that originated in Switzerland in the late 1880's, where a color photo lithograph was produced from a black and white negative. Technique was frequently used on postcards prior to WWII.
