In the spirit of fairy artists Amy Brown, Jessica Galbreth, Nene Thompson and so many others, this is my attempt into the world of the fey.
A sultry, seductive mistress of the fey folk is trying to lure you into her trap. Promising pleasure and beauty, who knows what mischief and misery she'll actually have in store for her poor victims.
This piece is from as far back as 2005, I was still 22 when I drew this, hardly grown out of my phase where I was deeply in love with all things gothic and romantic. Where I still do apply and admire those styles I've learned to add more color and make them my own.
I was also in a transition where I was just beginning to add background into my work.
I loved concept art and clothing design in my adolescence, and was never confident in anything other than the figures in my art. Here I am slowly coming out of my shell, staying close to my comfort zone with borders... which eventually evolved into full blown backgrounds.

This piece isn't anything like a Mucha's work somehow, even though it involves photo realism and touches of art nouveau. Where I can't remember him touching photo realism, I've seen work much like his where the figures were photographed females. That is why I am puzzled.
