Vintage 1960's Mini Skort Shorts Bathing Costume XXS

This is such a darling vintage piece!
It is either meant to be a very short skort, or it's meant to be the bottom half of a bathing suit.

This sweetheart was made in Japan by Linda Mae, RN#35233. I had no luck finding the RN# online, it would be interesting to know the exact year it was made ;)
Fabric content is 77% Cotton and 23% Polyester.

Marked size 14, I'm guessing that's would have been a junior's size.
It is soooo tiny, but appears to have been taken in at the waist, so it's possible that it could be made a bit bigger.
Currently it has a 22" waist and 32.5" hips.
The total length is 12.25".

Fastens with a green metal YKK zipper and a button in the back, the front has four decorative pearly buttons on the side.

This piece is in excellent vintage condition, apart from the alterations that have been made.
