Royal Blue Dichroic Swirl Focal Art Bead - SRA - OOAK

This is one from my dichroic series. Dichroic is a type of glass treatment where glass is placed in a vacuum and micro thin layers of different metals are sprayed on the surface, these metals reflect light at different levels which causes it to sparkle. The dichroic here reminds me of a school of little silver fish swimming around the bead. The focal bead measures 27mm x 35.5mm and was wound on a 1/8" mandrel.

Each of my beads is made by me, one by one, in my home studio. Most of my beads are made of designer glass that is handcrafted by artisan glass makers and usually produced in small quantities in unique color sets. I also use many of the well known glass types that have been around for years.

The actual colors of the beads may vary somewhat from what you see on your computer due to different settings on cameras and monitors. Hopefully my description of the bead(s) will help with that! The beads are annealed in a digitally controlled kiln for strength and durability.
