Delicate 1, superwash wool, wool, silk and nylon handspun yarn
Description
I was inspired by the spring flowers that are blooming on the hillside and have tried to duplicate those delicate pastels. I’ve blended white superwash wool with small amounts of violet, magenta and grass green wool and thrown in a handful of very bright bits of silk waste. The result is a delicately marbled yarn with blips of red, yellow, hot pink, purple and lime silk. This is the first of two skeins that are available, follow this link to the second skein http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=23929310The wool for this yarn was blended by me of approximately 70% superwash wool, 10% Merino wool for warmth and 20% nylon for strength and durability. It takes about 6-7 hours to prepare, spin and finish a skein of sock yarn. It needs no reinforcing yarn in heels/toes unless you like the extra "insurance" of using reinforcing yarn. Garments made from this yarn can be machine-washed in warm water on gentle cycle and should be laid flat to dry.
