This is an original painting, by Ren Adams (me), using traditional Chinese brush painting techniques.

The process of Chinese brush painting is part of my daily meditation. It allows me to focus and to spread positive energy into the universe.

A rough, gnarled plum tree rises into the sky. Plum trees/blossoms are one of the four gentlemen of Chinese painting. They are famous for being a herald of spring and the branches and trunks are thought to convey strength and wisdom that comes with age.

This painting is also signed with my artist's name chop (An Rui Ning) and my mood chop (the oval stamp, which reads: Arriving at the Tao is not Difficult.)
