Owls Staying Warm
Description
This is a screenprint created from a pen and ink drawing of two owls huddling together, or perhaps, as my friend Jean suggested, necking. It's printed it in a dark brownish black, dyed it with tea for age, character and that buttery glow, and mounted it on a painted red wood block. Finally I finished it with a layer of beeswax and resin. It has a sawtooth hanger installed on the back so you can hang it right up, or it looks great sitting on any flat surface. It measures approximately 2 3/4" X 2 3/4" (slightly wider than high) and is just shy of an 3/4" deep--chunky and charming.Added on Oct 12, 2009
