Hematite Galaxy Necklace

Description

This is my finished piece on the wonderful little Specular Hematite slab I purchased at the Des Plaines Valley gem show.

The wire wrap is done entirely with dead-soft square wire, .999 pure sterling silver!

All the findings except for the main clasp are made by me- that means those cute little wire spirals, too! And all findings are pure silver. The clasp, if you can see, has a tiny Herkimer Diamond embedded in it!

The other, more common materials are: Blue goldstone spheres; a few dyed freshwater pearls; and Mother of Pearl "teeth".

This is one of my most favorite pieces! And the Hematite...whew. Such a fantastic stone! Not easily found, either.
