Upcycled vintage woollen sweater handmade into felted vest with rainbow crochet trim in small size

For twenty years the pack rat in me made me save all my woollen pullovers, knowing/thinking one day I'd felt them and make something. After several washings in hot water, the sizing reduces dramatically, so even though my sweaters were large, these thoroughly shrunk modified felted versions are smallish.

This one was originally a v-neck pullover so the resulting vestlet has a neat v-collar. The rather sober grey main colour is given more appeal through the salmon pink foundation crochet and the variegated nubbly royal-fuscia-orange-green crocheted edging. The salmon pink is echoed in three randomly placed stylized flower heads. The little cap sleeves add a further feminine touch.

Lying flat, the vest is 15" (38 cm.)wide. Allowing for the usual opening at the front, I'm guessing it would look fetching on up to about a 34" (86.5 cm.) bust. It measures 18" (45.5 cm.) from top corner of sleeve to opposite sleeve corner, and it is 20" (50.5 cm.)long from edge of collar to bottom of waistband.

This one with it's history of hot-water washings, and its synthetic yarn edging is machine-washable (cool setting to protect the synthetic fibres)
