Fairy Angel Doll Iris

Description

This beautiful fairy angel is “Iris”. She is made from gently aged osnaburg cotton fabric. She has a round head and jointed elbows and knees. I’ve needle sculpted her nose, and painted her eyes and lips using acrylic and pencils, then sprayed with a matte finish to prevent fading. Her hair is made from very soft white sheep’s wool that has been needle felted in place with a tiny bit of glue.
Iris’s dress has been made from a clean recycled baby’s dress. It has been tailored to fit Iris perfectly! I’ve made a sheer blouse under her dress to match. She is wearing matching bloomers underneath, trimmed with lace.
Iris’s shoes have been painted then embellished with a scrap bow, and glass bead. Her crown is made from an old doily that I cut in half, then stiffened and decorated with glitter. I’ve made her wings using white cotton printed fabric that has been sewn, quilted, stuffed, and then stained. It has a loop for hanging.
Finally, Iris is holding a cone bouquet, made from foam, then covered with decorative paper, and decorated with silk ribbon, a large rusty bell, and a nest full of silk roses, and filler. It is hung by a twisted rusty wire handle, and finished with a glittery vintage angel picture tag.
