Summer Garden Felted Vessel

Description

This hand-felted vessel was wet felted with merino wool in ivory, pink, mauve, and burgundy with faint touches of yellow. Mohair locks in various shades of green along with merino/silk fibers adorn the top layer of the vessel. The rim is just bursting with color! I've created a garden with Czech glass flower, leaf, pressed, and fire polish beads, some faceted rose quartz, pale green stone chips, and seed beads in shades of pink and green. In the middle of this garden hangs one of my lampwork leaf beads in a few different shades of transparent green glass enhanced with bits of dichroic sparkle. I think this is the prettiest vessel I've made so far - it's certainly my most ambitious! It's perfect for this time of year - flowering trees putting on on their spring show and gardens coming out of winter hiding. I hope you find it as enchanting as I do!

The vessel is between 5 1/2 and 6 inches high, 2 by 2 1/2 inches at the bottom, and about 3 1/2 inches wide in the body. These measurements are approximate.

You can use these felted vessels to store trinkets, dress up a small potted plant, provide a decorative accent, brighten up your work desk... the sky's the limit!
