Lichen for your Wall 5, (5 inch)
Description
This lichen is inspired by the kind I used to find on the rocks where I grew-up in California.This lightweight piece consists of a 5 inch wooden embroidery hoop with a medium gray cotton fabric. I then embroidered french knots in four colors onto the fabric: burnt orange, light yellow-green, light green and yellow. The french knots are small and large, tight and loose for a subtle difference in texture. After completing the embroidery, I securely glued the fabric to the inside of the hoop with craft glue.
Since this piece is small and intimate, I think it would be lovely in a reading nook, next to a work area or in a group.
PLEASE NOTE: I HAVE JUST A BIT MORE OF THE GRAY FABRIC THAT I USE FOR MY "FOR YOUR WALL" PIECES...AFTER WHICH I WILL BE USING A DIFFERENT, BUT SIMILAR FABRIC.
