Foldformed leaves Earrings

Description

The leaves on these earrings are fabricated using foldforming techniques with thin (24 gauge/ 0.5 mm)sheet of copper.

Foldforming consists on cutting, folding, hammering, annealing, more hammering and more annealing sheets of metal. It is a conceptual, physical, and intuitive approach to metalsmithing that is informed by the natural characteristics of metals, and where the marks of process are compositional design choices.

Each leaf measures about 1" by 1/2". Total earring length from top of ear wire to bottom of leaf is about 1 1/2" (4cm).

The copper on these leaves has not been treated, so it will change color with time.

Care instructions: Wash with mild dish soap and warm water. Use a soft bristle toothbrush and dry carefully. Make sure they are completely dry before storing.

These earrings (and all of my jewelry) comes inside a pretty gift box tied with a satin/organza ribbon and ready for gift giving.
