Shibori Scarf, Psychadelic Spicebox

Description

The colors in this scarf remind me of deep puddles, marigolds, morning glories, flying saucer candies, and avacado leaves.

This scarf is woven rayon. It measures 11" x 57". I dyed it first in a pink dyebath, then bound it with wood blocks, and dyed it again with varying shades of black, orange, green, and turquoise, and left it to cure for 24 hours before rinsing.

The Japanese method of tie-dye I use is called shibori.
The dyes are fiber-reactive. The rayon fabric drapes nicely. It is light, but has more body than a silk scarf.

It works equally well as a scarf, a head wrap, or a tied sash belt.

This scarf is from my Spicy Garden line. The forms created by the dyeing process are very organic, and the colors are spicy...hence, spicy garden...

For washing, I recommend hand-washing in cold water and hanging to dry.
