Hip Professor Messenger Bag

My friend Kate is a new professor at a college in Honolulu. She was looking for a bag that would carry all of her belongings in style and keep her organized. But it needed to hold up to daily use and it needed to be something comfortable so she could wear it comfortably when it was full of books, tests, and papers to be graded. We worked out a bag with a large pocket for all her larger belongings, an interior zipper pocket for small things she didn't want sloshing around, and outside back pocket for small books, magazines, or papers she might need easy access to, a pocket for her iPod with a separate pocket for her headphones, a pocket for her cellphone, a pocket for her pointer, and other small objects, and an exterior pocket with a ring for holding her keys. It seemed like a tall order at first, but I think I successfully pulled it off. The large flap covers all the pockets to provide an extra layer of protection for all her items and it makes the bag look streamlined and professional. The multiple colors means she can wear this bag with just about anything. And the adjustable strap means that she can make the bag as snug or loose as she needs it. Even if she ends up going to a conference somewhere that she needs a coat. *shudder*
