Description

This re-usable cloth pad is 10.5 inches long and 3 inches wide when attached to the panty. It is made to withstand a medium to heavy flow. I have used mine on my heaviest days and they worked just fine, although individual results may vary. It is an all-in-one (AIO) design with the soaker layers encased within the pad. The outer layer is 100% cotton on the top and bottom. The soaker portion is made of 1 layers of 100% cotton batting, one layer of Zorb, and is fully lined with one layer of waterproof PUL, yet is still thin. It is suitable for mild stress incontinence.

"ZORB absorbs 10x it's weight in less than half a second -- that's 20x faster than cotton, bamboo or hemp. Zorb has incredible holding power too, a single layer holds up to 3 times the moisture of the best absorbing knits so leaking and exterior wicking can be reduced or eliminated." If buying a pad for mild stress incontinence, please be aware that many menstrual pads are not able to withstand the sudden, forceful gush of urine such as that accompanied by a cough or sneeze. Because urine is not a viscous liquid like menstrual blood, it may leak through rather quickly. That is why my pads are made with a layer of PUL in addition to Zorb. Fleece lined pads alone may not be enough protection. My pads are made to be comfortable for everyday use, not just for monthly flow.

I happen to use a button closure simply because I'm better at buttons than snaps. You can't feel the button while wearing the pad! It will not rust and is sewn on very securely by machine.

I use only brand new materials in my pads. Fabric is prewashed to minimize further shrinkage. Pattern placement may vary from photo since I make several pads from each fabric at a time.

Machine washable and dryable but please do not use fabric softeners as this may decrease the absorbency of the pad. Chlorine bleach will affect the color of the pad and will shorten the useful life of the pad. Soaking the pad in a soapy water solution until you are able to launder it may minimize staining. I normally add a bit of borax or Oxyclean to my water as well. Change the water daily.

Why cloth? Many women are sensitive to the chemicals used in the manufacture of disposable products and for them, the discovery of cloth pads is an end to their discomfort. Not only is cloth more comfortable than disposable paper/plastic products, but because they're re-usable, they're better for your wallet and the environment. If well taken care of, they can last for several years.

There is a bunch of information out there but this is probably the most comprehensive site available:
