Dorothy Brooch - Layered Textiles and the Red Shoes
Description
DOROTHY... this brooch is for Dorothy and her magical powers with those fab red shoes she wore.The outer double ruffled layer of the brooch is a polished chintz in red tones with some gold and orange and green mixed in. Topping the ruffles is another layer of upholstery fabric in a fine red and orange stripe. Topping those layers is an oval of red taffeta, which is topped with a little yellow oval with the infamous shoes on it.
These days I'm sure that many of us wish that we could click our red heels and be transported to someplace else.
This 4" by 4-3/8" brooch is backed with red eco-felt, and has a pinback securely hand sewn through several layers.
The pin is from my pet-free and smoke-free home and has not been worn.
