Going in Circles Porcelain Cup

Description

This cup was hand-thrown from porcelain clay, trimmed, handle added. Then the real work began. The outside surface was achieved by applying tape, and brushing on layers of different color engobes. After, the tape was removed, revealing bare porcelain body. For the next step the engobe surface was distressed and sanded to reveal layers hidden beneath. The inside of the cup was simply glazed, which rendered this cup water tight, and fully functional. I love the painting quality of this cup and the constant variety of lines and circles. You can't help but turn it to see the full detail of it's design. Soon you won't be drinking from anything else.

The glazes are Food-safe; fired to cone 10 (2380 degrees F). The cup is microwave/oven/dishwasher safe.
Dimentions: 3 3/8" tall, 3 1/2" in diameter.
