Shofar Carmel, sterling silver, amethyst and peridot pendant.

Description

‘Carmel’ means ‘vineyard [kerem] of God [el]’ in Hebrew. I designed this lovely original* shofar** pendant to resemble both ram's horn and grapes, because similar to blowing a shofar there is a blessing over wine to recite on all the major Jewish holidays and occasions.

The pendant was free hand formed from a piece of sterling silver wire and cold forged for strength with hammered finish added for delicate sparkle. It was wire wrapped with translucent peridot chips for leaves. A cluster of various amethyst beads was added for grapes.

!!! This listing is for pendant only, the chain shown in the picture, that is 0.6mm sterling silver cord chain, is for display purposes and is not included in the price. I would not like you to buy something you don't need. For chains have a look in ‘Chain’ section. Other etsy sellers offer sterling chains as well. I recommend snake or box chains for use with my pendants.

Size - ~2 3/8” (60mm) long and just under ¾” (19mm) wide. The pendant will arrive to you packed in a gift box.

** The Shofar is a symbol of Rosh HaShana, Jewish High Holidays, also called Jewish New Year, because blowing of Shofar on this occasion is commanded in the Bible. It is usually made of ram’s horn and is also traditionally blown on different other holidays and occasions.
